ST LOUIS, MO – 11/16/2022 – Unleashing Potential received a grant for $25,000 from Dana Brown Charitable Trust, which will be used to support access for vulnerable children to Early Childhood Education at Caroline Mission.
Unleashing Potential’s Early Childhood Education program is licensed and nationally accredited, providing children ages 6 weeks to 5 years with high-quality education and care. Each child receives an individualized development plan, and children graduate prepared for continued academic success. Tuition relief is provided to all families. The Creative curriculum, individualized treatment plans, and parent engagement ensure kindergarten readiness.
“There are presently not enough affordable Early Childhood Education seats in St. Louis City,” said Patsy Mason, Director of Early Childhood Education at Caroline Mission. “And, to compound the issue, early childhood educational disparities regarding children of color are of significant concern. This Dana Brown Charitable Trust grant will help us prepare children 6 weeks to 5 years of age in underserved, high-risk communities to better express themselves, understand concepts, and develop the quench for learning. In fact, our quality programming incorporates individualized development plans to ensure that children meet developmental milestones and are kindergarten ready when the time comes.”
Unleashing Potential has a proven track record of academic and social-emotional successes for over 1,000 children and their families annually. According to our 2021 Outcomes in Early Childhood Education, 100% of our children who graduated were ready for kindergarten and 87% of our children overall reached their development milestones.
The Dana Brown Charitable Trust provides for the health, education, and welfare of disadvantaged children and the health and welfare of animals in the St. Louis Metro area. Annually, over $3 million is donated to St. Louis organizations.
